Reviews Policy
Where our guest reviews come from and how we show them.

Where our reviews come from
We don’t run our own review form. Every review shown on this website was written by a guest and posted publicly on the listing they booked through — Airbnb, Booking.com or our Google listing. Each review on this site is labelled with its platform and links back to that platform so you can see it in its original context alongside every other review.
They come from real, verified stays
Airbnb and Booking.com only let a guest review a property after a completed, paid stay, and Google reviews of our listing come from members of the public. We don’t write reviews, we don’t ask friends or family to, and we have never paid for, incentivised or rewarded a review in any way. The “leave us a review on Google” link on our site simply takes past guests to Google’s own form — we can’t see who clicks it or influence what they write.
We publish them word for word
Reviews are reproduced verbatim — the same words the guest wrote. We don’t correct spelling, tidy grammar or edit wording. If we ever need to shorten a long review for space we mark the cut with an ellipsis (…) and never change its meaning or sentiment. We show the guest’s first name and the month of their stay; we don’t publish surnames, photos or contact details.
Which reviews we show
The homepage and booking pages show a rolling selection of our most recent reviews, newest first, across all platforms. It is a sample, not the full set, chosen by date — not by how positive it is. We do not hide, bury or filter out critical or negative reviews. You can read every review we’ve ever received, unedited and in full, on the platform listings linked above and throughout the site.
Ratings and scales
The booking platforms score properties differently: Airbnb and Google are out of 5, Booking.com is out of 10. We show each rating on its own platform’s scale, exactly as the guest gave it — a Booking.com 9 is shown as “9/10”, not rebased to 4.5/5. We deliberately do not convert scores between scales or combine ratings from different platforms into a single average, because the platforms measure different things in different ways and a blended number would misrepresent them. Where we show a per-platform average and review count, it is worked out from every review we receive for that platform through our booking channel manager, as at the date shown — not a number we type in or adjust.
If a review mentions you
If you’re a past guest and would rather your review didn’t appear on this website — or you spot anything about how it’s shown that isn’t right — email info@wavesandwalkways.co.uk and we’ll remove or correct it promptly. This doesn’t affect the review on the platform itself, which is managed under that platform’s rules.
Suspected fake reviews
If you believe a review shown here is not genuine, please tell us at info@wavesandwalkways.co.uk. We’ll investigate, report it to the relevant platform, and remove it from this site while we do.
Keeping this current
We review this page whenever we change how reviews are displayed on the site. The version and date at the top show when it was last updated.
