Westward Ho! has a big seafront pay-and-display, but there's plenty of free parking dotted around the village and the beach end if you know where to look. This is our honest local run-down, the same one we share with guests staying at Waves & Walkways.
Free parking near the beach
About a 17-minute walk from our house, so handy if you'd rather drive down than walk.
Northam Burrows car park
Free if you arrive before the attendant starts in the morning or after they finish for the day, otherwise there's a small charge. The wide, open Burrows is a lovely place to leave the car and walk onto the beach.
Near Seafield House
A free car park right at the end near Seafield House, plus free parking all along the road leading up to it. One of the best bets for a full day at the beach.
Near North Devon Surf School
Free parking around Golf Links Road, near North Devon Surf School, convenient if you're heading out for a surf lesson.
Short-stay bays in the village
For a quick shop or a coffee run rather than a full day out.
Outside Tesco Express
A few free short-stay bays on Golf Links Road, handy for grabbing the essentials.
Nelson Road
Free 20 and 30 minute bays further up Nelson Road, ideal for nipping into Bessys Bakery.
Parking is sorted before you even set off
Guests at Waves & Walkways get one dedicated, monitored off-street space, plus plenty of free on-street parking right by the house for extra cars.
The beach and village are about a 17-minute walk away, so many guests happily leave the car at the house and stroll down. When you'd rather drive, the free spots above are all a short hop away.
